Curious: the hardest level you've ever played through?

I was just wondering what game/level/area/etc. has challenged you the most...a level that drove you to the point of nearly throwing your monitor out of the window like a discus.

Sniper alley (can't rememeber the actual mission name) in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is up there. Along with escaping the building thats blowing up towards the end.

DiabloII- the three ancients on the mountain top. Can't leave the area, must defeat them all at once.

DoomII (i think)- big level towards (at?) the end where a giant is firing rockets at you constantly and his biatch to kill, my 1st taste of god mode in a FPS :p

lots more that I could probably sit here and pull outta my,,, but these are memorable.

The ice level on Super Mario(super NES). One of the secret worlds. Man, you had to time every jump just so, one slip and you were toast. Man that level sucked big time.

Sniper Alley drove me bonkers too.

Some levels on Serious Sam were just downright silly. The one where ya gotta fend off like 40,000 creatures all at once. Its fun for 15 mins...but they keep on comming, more in each wave. Ahhh!

Remember that level in tomb raid 1 where you faced off against the dinosaurs? Well, you had to climb this rock cliff to get into that opening so that you could enter the area with the dino's. On a 25" tv the graphics were too blocky to properly see that hold in the wall. I played that board for WEEKS trying to find out what to do. Gosh, I had a 486-25mhz at the time and all I really did was hang out on aol(computer-wise).

The tentacle beast level in Half Life....didn't make me want to throw my monitor out the window, but more like...the most intense, get your heart beat racing, sweaty palm level I've ever played. Most memorable level in my book.

I loved the whole concept behind HItemn, but that game was incredibly hard, and no saves really stunk. I got sick of doing the same thing over and over again, got broing really quick.

Hitmen 2 is coming out next week and suppose to have ingame saves, should be good i hope

However, the absolute worst game for that is the Hitman series!!! Jeebus that game is hard if you don't do everything EXACTLY right!

Final Fantasy II for SNES.. the end boss took me forever because I didn't quite have enough exp to be strong enough but I beat him eventually.. That was quite a long time ago but definitely one I remember a little more than others..

Also the original Mortal Kombat arcade game.. spent countless quarters defeating Shang Tsung for the first time.. Oddly enough, after I beat him one time... I beat him almost everytime after that..

For PC there have been many cases of nearly tossing the monitor out the window, mostly due to the "forgetting-to-save syndrome", but if I had to point out one game I would definitely agree with YOS on the Doom II level where you see the big cyberdemon, or whatever it was called, for the first time! Yikes!

aww... those were the days of irresponsibility...

That by far was the hardest level that I've played thru...many saves, many hours...

StarCraft: Brood Wars

Zerg secret mission.

*ahhhh* Six+ hours on that the first time through, three restarts.
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!
