Network Traffic Monitoring

Post by littlerumper »

Hey all!

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a program that would log traffic quantity (i.e. MB per hour or day). I'm not looking for the speed the data is travelling at, but the amount....Thanks.

Anasil will. Here's a demo, the software is very expensive though.

I could have sworn that I saw a simple - traffic prog that runs in the sys tray. It did give some speed stuff, but what I'm looking for is the amount of Megs being passed through...

MRTG is the classic solution. It runs on unix or linux and uses SNMP to get packet counts from your router or modem. Not easy for the neophyte, but it's very good, flexible and free.

I've heard of MRTG in a windows environment but never seen it.
