SI has their Fantasy Rankings for Baseball

Post by Heaven_No »

It kills me to hear Sports Illustrated guys belly ache about the ammount of talent on the Yankees, yet the "World Champs" do not have a position player in the top thirty or a pitcher in the top ten.

Then again maybe the rankings are BS....
Look where they placed Piazza... I am not a Met fan, but he CLEARLY is one of the best players in the league.

Piazza is the man. I wish that the Mets woud stop clowning around and pickup Sheffield already. He would be an awesome addition to the Mets lineup. Imagine that, Sheffield then batting up next would be Piazza, OUCH, I see balls flying all out of Shea Stadium :D

Phlips IS AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he's pissin me off. First he let A-Rod go, then he let Mussina go, then he let Manny Ramirez go. Any one of those guys would have almost guaranteed us the Championship in my mind, especially A-Rod, though the guy is an extreme assh0le right now, he would have been an awesome addition to the Mets. Now the fool doesn't wanna give Gary 10 Mil per year, gimme a break, Sheffield's a bargain at 10Mil per year. Philips needs his head examined

The Yanks had Mussina locked up...
A-Rod is a complete dikhead. Remember even with Junior and the Unit, Seattle couldn't do it. R-Rod is a great player, but I don't think he is a winner.
Manny Ramirez wanted to play in NYC... He wanted 18Mil.... PAY HIM!!! WTF was wrong with Phillips on the one. 7 Mil cheaper than A-Rod, drives in more runs and fills a weak outfield.

I say fire the douchebag!!!!

Umm, then you can listen to me bellyache. :)

Baseball, more than any other sport, is a team sport - you know that. Fantasy stats are not indicative of a sports team's success.

This year, I won the Super Bowl in my fantasy football league with stars from teams that didn't even make the playoffs. The Baltimore Ravens (and New York Giants!) had very few players that got drafted by any team in our league. All they did was represent their respective conferences in the real Super Bowl.

More proof - The very Mariner's team you mentioned. Randy, Junior, Alex and Jay Buhner couldn't get it done because they didn't have decent 4th or 5th starters or any relief pitching to speak of.

Are you suggesting the Yanks aren't loaded with talent?

Prey,

I dunno what's up with Phillips, but I don't think you can't blame him for letting Alex slip away. He isn't worth what Texas is paying.
When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come? With your hands at your head, or the trigger of your gun?

OK, A-Rod I can understand not signing, but not goin for Manny Ramirez is just inexcusable, the guy is a beast and he wanted to come here. Philips is a jackass and is gonna cost us another visit to the WS

You forgot Edgar Martinez on your team....

I won't say that the Yanks do not have a heap of talent, but no one is a top ten guy... according to SI.
