ATTBI Networking question...
First post guys...
i've been here reading tips on how to tweak my connection... until ive gotten to the point where i can't make it any faster because of my cap but i just have a question regarding ATT's networking policy... i want to get a router so that my two other computers can share the connection without having to unplug the other. I have a Toshiba cable modem and right now one is using the USB and the other is using an NIC. I just read the TOS on ATTBIs site and it says that its illegal to connect more computers than the amount stated on my account. I am paying $10 more a month just because i purchased the extra IPs for my other two computers. Does that mean that it's illegal for me to use a router and connect more than one computer unless i keep paying $10 for the extra IPs? I thought i would be ok once i get the router and unsubscribe from their networking fee...
Thanks in advance.
Ya, You can go ahead and buy a router. I prefer linksys for starters b/c its a switch. They are only about $100 so go ahead and try it out. BTW you didn't need to buy that extra ip with a switch =),

Here is a link for the ATTBI site giving tips on how to use a LINKSYS router. Strange they would allow you to use one then give you tips on how to use one????!

Where did you read that ATTBI didn't allow routers or multiple computers? I couldn't find anything like that.
