Setting up IIS with multiple sites

Post by nagetech »

Ok i have this problem, I've been using IIS for a while now to host various sites. The way i set it up is that the Defualt site is pointed to the folder with all my sites (or sub folders)

what i wanted to do now, is separate them, so that they wont all be in the same directory

for example:

http://nat.mine.nu:81 is my root

if you lets say put /stuff at the end of it, itll go to that folder

What i want to do is set it up like i would a domain..every folder being recognized as a site by IIS

if i was doing a domain..all id have to do is type in for example http://www.test.com as the Host header name in IIS

but i cant seem to just type nat.mine.nu:81/stuff as the header..cause if i do..it wont recognize it as a site when i type it into the browser :(

i have tried various combinations and cant seem to do it...any help will be much appreciated :)

http://nat.mine.nu:81/stuff

You must put http:// before the address anytime you use a port# to connect to your site

You are trying to set up virtual domains. I don't know how you configure that in IIS, but that is the name of the functionality that you are looking for. I think you may need multiple NICs is you don't want to have to manually define the port each time.
