Possibility of 100+ p4 1.6 genomers, but I need your help!
Ok, the school's library has lots of computers that I could probably get to genome, but I don't have the necessary permissions to run the install program. If, however, I could get a copy of genome in a zipfile already configged for the SG team, then that would run. What I need, is the files required for such an occurance, in other words, what files in my current genome directory should I delete so that I can copy it over, and then start running, already configged, and it will download it's first WU automatically.
If your browser can't read unicode, you should probably switch!

Easy enough to do Qwijib0,
Create a folder on your system called "genome" or what ever you want to call it. Copy the files from your working version into it. Now go to run and cmd, cd over to the new folder and type this in command line "ghclient -clear". It will clear the data from your working genome proggie and create a new set of info files. Once rotamer is done and it starts to design kill the process. Zip the entire folder and put it on what ever system you want.
On the new system create the new folder then from command prompt go to the genome folder and type "ghclient".
Any other questions just give me a yell. That's how I have to do it.

I would really love to see you do this but........Let's keep it within reason here.
Roger over at amd has access to a megadose of boxes according to a post over there see post toward the bottom of the page and has refrained from doing so. I would have to agree that is kinda over the line of "friendly competiton".

They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake".

That'd be nice to get all those boxes up and running for you guys, but you need to be careful, especially since you don't have permission. People have gotten arrested for that. One guy tried running Seti at his college labs and almost was expelled. Took a lot of negotiating to get them to let him stay. You wanna be cafeful before you go ahead and do it.

And to have it linked to SG would be a bad thing.Originally posted by VampyreGTX

Me and master7 are trying to work out a way to get it on some library computers we have limited acces too. We decided against trying to sneak it on because we figured the cost of getting caught woudl give sg.net a bad name and we could get in trouble too of course. That is unlikely however. Right now we are figureing out the best way to ask and to explain exactly what g@h does and why it is good. We also have top seceret plans for creating the first ever (that i know of) sg.net, g@h super computer. More info as it becomes declasified.

Guys, I seriously do not recommend installing this stuff on any computers that you do not have PERMISSION to do so with (written would be best since it could come back and bite you in the @$$).
There was a problem with a kid in the south installing something like SETI@Home on his college's computers. The school wasn't happy, and fined him some incredible amout for unauthorized usage of the school's computers and bandwidth.
Simply, if its not yours, and you don't have permission, DON'T INSTALL OR RUN it.
Just because its for a good cause doesn't mean people won't get pissed. Tread carefully...
