Hmmm, thats a good one. Clint Eastwood is up there, anybody that like .44 magnums is A-Okay in my book. Not an actor, but Billy Idol is cool too, the personification of rock-star IMO, he just does NOT give a crap about anything. Can you see him doing a benefit for orphaned baby seals? Nope, he stomp em and get some hookers, a true misfit.

Actress-

Jodie Foster, she's a compelling actress. You belive her roles.

I'm sorry but Chow Yun Fat can not act. He can however kick some serious booty, but acting? Nah

Which is the same attitude any audience in the US sees, because they havn't seen 95% of his work (well over 100 movies). Go rent A Better Tomorrow and The Killer, both of which showcase acting as well as skill holding two guns at a time. :p

Of course, he was also in Crouching Tiger, but he's been in dozens of dramatic roles in movies like "All About Ah Long" and "Hong Kong 1941", as well as romantic lead in movies like "Treasure Hunt" and possibly even "Anna And The King", and even comedy in movies like "Once A Thief" and "A Diary Of A Big Man". Sure, he's not for everyone, but only a few of his films have been action ones. Those are, of course, the only one's he's really known for in the US, but you even need to see him in his GOOD action roles, not something like "The Replacement Killers".

Go rent The Killer. If you're still convinced he can't both do action and acting, then I'll leave ya alone. :D

How was that movie "Death to Smoochy"? I saw the trailer and well I got turned off by it.

Yeah, I'm a fan, but only of certain types. I mean, Jackie Chan is cool, but I'm not the type of person who really gets excited by his movies. Same applies to Jet Li (although Once Upon A Time In China is very good), Michele Yeoh, etc.

I'm a bigger fan of the "heroic bloodshed" movies (more the John Woo ones than the ripoffs that came since A Better Tomorrow) and the dramas and comedies than I am of the martial arts pictures (although I fully respect movies like Iron Monkey).

Anyway, I've seen both Prison On Fire movies, as well as City on Fire. I still havn't been able to track down School On Fire though, but then again, it doesn't have Chow, so I'm in no rush. ;) The first one was cool, but I would've preferred if the real Tony Leung was in it, since I'm not a big fan of the "other" one.

The problem is Disney is being a Nazi again. They buy up the rights to dozens of these movies, and then either refuse to sell them, or they release English-only dubs on DVD. City on Fire is a great example. I love what they did with the video quality, but I would've preferred if it didn't JUST have the dub, as well as no extras. And they've been cracking down on US distributers who sell the HK versions of movies they now own the rights to. Trying to find a copy of something like Bullet In The Head or Tiger On beat is even harder now than it was before.

I'd have no problem if Disney would RELEASE these films, but they won't, at least not for a long time. Anyway, where were we? (Sorry for the thread crap). :p

I have to agree with the comments about Edward Norton. That kind of talent and versatility puts him at #1 right now for me. Seems to choose his films wisely too.

Some other good ones: Al Pacino, Gene Hackman, Robin Williams, Matt Damon

As for Actresses, it's easily Jodie Foster.

Robert De Nireo in Heat was hot, but the most sexy guy has to be Joseph Fiennes. Jodie Foster never ceases to amaze me more with every roll she plays.
