ATI Radeon 7500 S-Video Out

Post by BaLa »

ok I recently built a comp for a friend..

P4 1.6a
Asus P4S333
60gig Maxtor
32x Lite On
52X CD-Rom
Radeon 7500
512mb RAM

this looks like most of the specs, the important ones at least...

the Video Card has an SVideo Output..

I was playing around with it earlier this afternoon, hooked it up to our TV and stuffs..

It looked REALLY crappy though, originally it was set to 1024x768 @24 or 32bit Color
I dropped the res to 640x480 and it STILL looked crappy, graphics weren't too bad but the TXT was terrible..

should I drop the color settings down?

What do y'all think the problem is?...

THe TV is pretty old, so that could be the problem as well.....

While there could be a problem, don't expect a TV to look anything like a computer monitor, it just can't handle the resolution and detail. So I wouldn't be surprised if the fuzzy look you're getting is what we all consider "normal" for tv out.

I just installed a 7500 all in wonder in my pc last week. My buds had told me in advance not to expect too much with the TV output. They were right. I tried Svid and comp. and they all looked the same. But hey, the output sure is pretty on my monitor.

need something like this to clean it up as the vga and tv signals are a little different. this little gadget should fix of the picture quite nicely. however, this one is for HDTV's and requires that the tv have a component input.
