Question about Jedi Knight 2 and Gf3 ti 500

Post by Ghosthunter »

This is sort of a mixforum question, so not sure where to go, but I know the video card experts are right here.

Anyway, I got this game and it runs great on my P3 866, 512 ram with gf3ti500, the only thing is the graphics I think suck compared to other games that came out recently like Medal Of Honor, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I put all the details mxed on high that I can find, and running in 1024x768 resolution. Is there something I am missing? was this game really built on quake3 engine or quake2? Because it looks more like quake 2 to me.

Thanks

Make sure you don't have the brightness turned up too high. I thought it was too dark at one point and so upped the gamma and boy do the textures look like a$s when you can really see them good. I had to turn it back down to the very dark level that it was at by default.

Yeah game looked too dark I did set brightness up to around halfway I think. I will try messing with that too, and make sure I Have very high settings, otherwise it is a pretty fun game to play.

Even though I stink when using the saber..I keep swooshing all the time.

Don't let that first light saber level ruin your confidence. Running around on catwalks and not being able to block the disruptor guns really defeats the whole fun aspect of getting the lightsaber, IMO.

Brent thank you..I had texture to only High..did not realize there was a very high setting. What a difference that makes.

I am starting to get better wtih the saber now acutally got 18 kills in one match which i think is pretty good, considering there were 12 people in game and highest score was 27..I love that grip force..

For curiosity is there a way to measure how many fps you get in jd2?

you can try cg_drawfps 1 in the console, that's the Quake3 command, it could be different in JDK2 though... i'll check it out....
