Ocz Ddr Ram

Post by CAR-15 »

Would 256MB RAM PC-3200 400Hz from OCZ work with a Soltek 75DRV5?
AMD XP2100+
Soltek SL-75DRV5
256 MB Samsung PC2100
Radeon 8500

It should work, though I don't know if that mobo officially supports PC3200. If not, it will just run it at PC2100. Note that the only real reason to purchase PC2700+ DDR RAM is if you plan on o'cing. There will be no noticable performance boost over PC2100, even if the mobo officially supports the higher speed. Today's CPUs are just not designed to take advantage of the these higher speed DDR modules.

That depends on the quality of that particular Samsung stick. :)

I think pushing the samsung ram to 333mhz would be to much.

It's hard to say. They are known to be good quality, but I have no personal experience with Samsung DDR RAM.
