Post by NICK »

Yes thats the DL speed Im getting. PATHETIC!
Ive got the XP patch. Maybe something to do with traffic, or bad DL server

I usually get pretty good load times, my highest DL speed is around 100KB/Sec

Is Optimizer installed, @home is no more, they were bought, no download CAP of 3.0 now, it's 1.5, slower, do this if you do not have Optimizer:

Make sure you get newest version Download SG Optimizer to your desktop, select connection type at top, select optimal settings at bottom, click on apply changes at very bottom, Select adapter you are using and REBOOT
If you wish to enter custom TCP recieve window select custom settings at bottom, enter what you wish, click on apply changes at bottom and REBOOT.
If using Cablenuts adjuster too, you must first bring up adjuster, click on delete Cablenut Tweaks at bottom and reboot, then download and install optimizer.

Optimizer in my signature :)

i havent rebooted after downloading the patch because im in the middle of a big download (130MB max payne demo)

do these mean anything?

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 17520
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 17520
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 700.8 kbps (87.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 280.32 kbps (35.04 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 114 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

=============================

and the speed test
(ATT CANADA)

Graphic
You received 2619537 bytes in 33.449 seconds. Throughput is 611 Kbps.

Text
You received 1345151 bytes in 18.427 seconds. Throughput is 570 Kbps.

Don't mess with anything in Optimizer but Tcp Recieve Window, apply changes each time you change number and reboot, select maybe a different test site close to you from: hare

You can only go as fast as your ISP lets you, just select the fastest number for you :)
