Problems logging in to Comcast?

Post by waynenf »

Anyone else having problems logging in to Comcast.net's main page? I received my email id this morning, and was able to log in from work and change my default password. I even accessed the page a few times about 1 hour ago with my newly assigned password. Now, all attempts to log in to the page result in a wrong password error message. Anyone else having problems? I'm accessing the site from work.

I can log into comcast.net but get the message that the mail server is not responding. In Outlook the Logon window pops up. The @home email still works.

Hate to say it, but personally I'm sticking to Lycos free mail until the dust settles.

First of all, thanks for all the great advice and suggestions I have found reading this Board.

Second, I had problems getting my Comcast E-mail through outlook express. I was still able to get @HOME ut not Comcast.

So I tried setting the POP3 Server to "mail.comcast.net" and the SMTP server to "smtp.comcast.net" I set my user name and locked my password in as the one that Comcast supplied me in the mail.

Well Although I tried this last weekend, and failed, it worked last night. GO figure.

@HOME required the full server address "mail.galitn01.tn.home.com" due to my Linksys Router, and still does, but comcast doesn't for some reason, I am sure that this is a mistake and Comcast will have me locked out again soon..LOL

There is definetly a system wide email problem being worked on right now. We hope to have it resolved soon. I am at a local office not corparate so I don't know what it is but I'll try and keep everyone posted.

I've been seeing a 50% success rate in calls for the last 4 days in getting people into their new mail, finally.
Hopefully it will be going 100% soon, getting sick of running through mail settings....lol
Oh well, its a paycheck
