It's slow right now cause it's peak time for everyone to be online here the campus, students/faculty/staff etc....

first test:

When the network traffic slows down I can pull 3MB/sec download and 500KB/sec Upload

That's why these sites are pretty valueless when measuring throughput. Network traffic will affect the data speed on the line, but not the true throughput on your machine.

at school we have at least a T1

I get 1mbit down...
I can't test teh upload speed b/c DSL Reports wont load teh java applet(sp) even after upgrading to IE6

One of our shops is screwey.
256 up/ 91 down sorta backwards huh!
It makes working on the Med. Equipment database sloooooooow.

The Funny thing is where this shop is........The Phone Switch/Biomed Shop/Computer Room. I can sit infront of this PC and reach over and touch the Servers.

The one on my desk at the main shop is 256 both ways.

I can't use the speed test as my school blocks java applets lol. (I would allow it manually, but they have a prog that they can see what I'm doing, very paranoid dellusionists)

But I can say that the T-1 we have here is sooo slow because we have around 230 computers on it. LoL
