Kitten and I just adopted a blind dog.

Post by EvilAngel »

You guys might remember the thread I started about retreiving a dead dog from the vet, well, there's a 76 year old man that hangs out at kittens work and it was his dog that died.

Kitten did some searching on the net and found about 40 dogs from around LA, OC and nearing counties for the guy and printed them and showed them to him and he found one that he liked. So we called and they said the dog will be put to sleep today if it didn't find a home.soooo I went down and looked at the dog and paid for the spading. I thought everything looked ok on the dog and went home a happy man feeling like I did good...lol

Weeeellll, I didn't look close enough ( plus I wasn't informed) so when kitten took the guy to the shelter they found out the dog was blind... ack!
( man I felt STUPID when they called me from there!)

Well Ted didn't want a blind dog and said no to bringing her home. kitten said she didn't want to leave the dog there to die so she decided to bring her home and possibly find a adoption home for her, well we both decided to keep her, may be a little more responsibility but I think it'll be worth it ;)

I was thinking of naming her Philipina.....lol j/k She does not have a name and she's two years old so I figured we could get a SG group naming session... ;)

Any ideas for names?

you can call her lucky since she did get Very lucky today or you could call her Grace, since by the grace of god she is still here. :)

meaning place of peace.
" Seems to fit well ;) :D

Hi Kitten & EvilAngel

Good for you guy's.

As fate would have it i posted this today in my surfing post.

Maybe it will be of some help to you.

2,000 Dog Names

Naming Your Puppy

The name you choose says as much about you as it does about your dog.

It shows how you view your dog and your relationship with it.

Some names can cause people to judge a dog and react positively or negatively/fearfully when meeting it.

Depending on whether the dog is a pet, therapy dog, search & rescue dog, tracking dog or any other dog that works with the public, it is important to use a name that conveys the proper image.

Good Luck & God Bless

That's amazing, truly a great thing you've done. Animals are just like children in so many ways. We have 2 dogs and a cat, they each have their own personalities and take their place in the family. We love animals too. We love to go to the pound but it's really depressing when you see so many animals unclaimed and we can't take them all home. :(

Great name by the way.

Hmmm... how about "Blind Guardian"? Okay, that's the name of a metal band, but I've always loved the name for its apparent irony. But in BG's songs magic exists (fantasy metal), so the guardian does not need to see. A dog's usually a guardian, or not? :D

Man, this is amazing to see this dog get around.. she'll go in circles and when she runs into something she rubs up against it then smells it and continues untill she bumps again and it seems almost as she has set paremiters for herself and walks alittle more freely.. I should get it on video..

I'm really glad we decided to keep her.
