LAN settings for winXP

For my LAN settings in winXp, is it better to hav the box next to "Auotmatically detect settings" checked or un-checked? whats the difference? I have cable.

Unchecked. Having it checked will slow you down.

Yes!!! Everything in the LAN Settings window needs to be unchecked.
