memory and connection speed

Post by shaolin_monk »

does memory affect how fast a cable modem connects? i talked to a roadrunner representative and he told me that roadrunner will go as fast as your computer will let it. he said that the more memory you have the faster it will be. is this true?

Using more memory won't make you're actual connection faster. It will speed up how fast your computer processes and ultimately displays the information you've downloaded.

Your friend lied to you.

RR runs at 2Mbps/384Kbits. Your NIC card runs at 10/100Mbps.

That NIC wont even tax your cpu.
