ARGH!!!! Damn Razor Bumps!!!!

Post by Prey521 »

Damnit, my fiance insisted that she shave my face a few days ago, she thought it would be romantic and all, it was a hella lot romantic, nice hot lathery foam, Mach3 razor, her soft hands all over my face, this was on Saturday, now, crap, damnit, freakin razorbumps on my neck!!! That's why I never shave, I use a depilatory cream that knocks the hair out, these damn bumps hurt like a MOFO, well, its only one large one that I think has like 3 ingrown hairs in it  I dont care how romantic it is, never again will I ever let a razor touch my face again

Anyone else here get some bad razor bumps?

Not me, been shaving with my knife of late. Spyderco C-36 Military. CPM 440 V stainless, obvisiouly sharp. Have one knife, VG-10 stainless, that I can dryshave with. Hurts tho. But my skin is borderline leather anyways, lotsa sun. Is it cuz yer hair curls back towards yer skin or ya just have sensative(say that with a lisp for effect) skin?

I use a depilatory called Magic Shaveless Beard Remover, works amazingly well, smells like sh1t though, but goes away after you wash it off.

does this so called cream of yours work at other places then just facial hair? like could you use it like shampoo? and when you rinse, all your hair would come out?

OMG...that would make an excellent prank! fill the regular shampoo bottle with the depiliatory cream....heh heh heh... :D

I have been shaving with a disposable razor for the past few days...it gets a closer shave then with my mach 3....granted, my mach 3 blades are like 3 months old lol...I get razor bumps a little bit on my neck...but only if i shave every day...i usually wait a 3-5 days to let the hair grow back nice and fluffy

Yes, it would work very very well, as a matter of fact, I use to use it to go bald headed last year, smooth as ice :D

But to pull pranks you need to use the odorless one, works wonders I tell ya :D

Hmm, Does it remove the Root of the hair, or just the top part.

What i hate about shaving, is that it only trims the top.. but the hair is still getting thicker, and thicker.. right ?

Hi Prey

I think sometimes we tend to stretch the skin too tight when we shave and end up with too close a shave.

The hair is cut below the skin and you end up with little bumps as the hair becomes trapped.

If you shave a little less closely i believe this eliminates the problem to a large degree.

That's been my experience at least.

This Newbie Deus ex Machina seems to know about such things. Perhaps He's a Barber or something :D

Sounds like a Professional man to me.

Take care All

Wrong.

The haif follicule stays the same diameter, otherwise you'd have some pretty honking hair.

The only time I get razor bumps is when I shave a beard off, and sometimes then.

Am I the only guy here who uses a REAL razor?

I prefer hydrochloric acid myself, it takes the hair right off and leaves you with a nice battle scar and a large reconstructive plastic surgery bill :D

Prey, Prey.....<shakes head>

Quit being such a girlieman. :D

1. Use a sharp double-blade razor.
2. Helpful to shave after your shower.
3. Take a very warm washcloth and rub it against the grain of your whiskers to stand     them up. You can also use a shaving brush to spread the foam, and that will help stand     them up too.
4. Shave with the grain, especially on your neck.
5. Don't press too hard. Let the razor do the work.
6. Use a skin conditioner afterward.

The current issue of Playboy ("Gala Christmas Issue"), in the Advisor section, gives a mention of an excellent shaving lotion. They also give the address for a free sample.

Heh I use to have the same problem my last job required me to be xtra clean shaven, what a hassle a few razor bumps here and there, then I tried magic shave like Prey, worked pretty well but not smoothe to the touch, The souloution? I changed jobs. grew some stubbles and keep it trimmed and neat, 5 0clock shadow 24/7 but trimmed neatly, Prey you might want to consider a beard
your girl might like it if you keep it tight. :D

It's easy when you can't see where you're shaving
