My step dad served in Vietnam, and his CO once said something that I will never forget.

"Only two things fall from the sky. Bird $hit and a$sholes."

Reminds me of the old Joke about the Novice Skydiver whose chute didn't open & as He was falling to earth he sees this Dot coming straight Up at him from the ground.

Soon he realizes its a man holding a lighter in his hand.

The skydiver Yells at the Guy,

"Hey Mac do you know anything about Parachutes ? "

The Guy Yells Back

" No! You know anything about Coleman Stoves ? "

Be Safe

Had a great day!! We only went for a 1/2 day and we both made 2 skydives from 14k. One of them was my wife and I and the 2nd was 4 people that just turned to ****.

Anyway, things went good and we made it to the ground (softly). If anyone ever has questions about it, let me know!! I'd be glad to answer them for you.

And for all of you who think skydiving is stupid, you must have never tried it.

I just can't do it.. I got height fears and stuff. Hell, I don't even want to jump off the second floor on a fire drill!

How can you???

Post by jordanw77 »

I don't see how you can just get up in that plane and when the door opens with no fear just jump out. How do you do that? I always think of the bad stuff that happens. But that does sound REALLY fun! I'll try it some day...

Well considering I have never done it, I think it will be awesome. I love heights so I should have no problem jumping.

The first couple times you do it, it is pretty disconcerning looking down about 2.5 miles and seeing the ground. Once you jump though, you totally forget about the ground rush at 120mph.

As far as anyone who wants to do it....DO IT!! It will seriously change your life. You think a "computer addiction" is expensive? HA! Skydiving is much worse. ;)

Lemme know what y'all think! Here is the whole picture that I took about 2 months ago of myself at sunset at about 5k under canopy. Enjoy!! :2cool:

We treated my dad to a jump a few years back. He had a great time. It was a tandome jump and the guy he jumped with did a few things he wasn't supposed...like summer saults and some kinda spirl while they were leaving the plane. He said it was fun, maybe I should get the 200 together for the stills, video, and jump :D

So, you dont swim either? Weird man. You need to get out more. :D

ANYWAY.....the view is really awesome. Clouds look so much cooler from above. Since on the bottom they are usually flat, but above, they are like the mountains. A couple times, I have jumped out at 15k and pulled my chute right away.

I spent about 15 minutes flying through valleys and holes and surfing around the edges of the clouds. They are one of the coolest things to look at close up like that. Other times, I have fallen through them (on accident), but it is really weird seeing a 300 yard long cloud rush up on you and then falling at 120 mph right through 4000' of dense cloud.

God, I want to go jump again!! 2 more weeks.

What is the problem with your lungs? (if you dont mind me asking)

I wouldn't know what the problem with skydiving would be. The only thing different about your breathing is that the air gets thinner for awhile and then you start breathing a lot more for the approx 40-60 seconds of freefall.
