What makes you Groggy/Still very tired/sleepy in the Morning?

Post by Brent »

Every morning when I wake up I still feel very tired and sleepy, it literally takes me HOURS of being awake to 'wake up'

Sometimes i've observed if I sleep a really long time that makes me even more tired of waking up, but other times if i sleep a really long time i'm wide awake when i wake up, and other times when i sleep a short time i am wide awake when i get up and other times i'm real sleepy, crazy huh

I'm trying to figure out how to wake up more refreshed and awake so I can get up easier.....

Set one goal for your day, each day and i think you will be wide awake.

For me i found out that if i wake up and i know i have nothing to do... i just stay tired all day. but if i wake up and i know i have something to accomplish, like a school test or something special, i am wide awake. try that

what makes me groggy is actually getting up, lol!

For me, I can't really explain it. Sometimes I sleep for 10 hrs, and feel like I slept 1 hour, othertimes I sleep 2 hrs, and feel like I've been sleeping all day, so I'm refreshed.

I think to feel refreshed or awake each time is to develop a regular sleep pattern. so that way your body is used to it, and the more often you get into the pattern, you'll find that you'll just automatically wake up at the designated time, instead of the alarm to wake you up.

Cuz when your body wakes up by itself, it's your body telling you that you've had the necessary amount of sleep, and that you're ready to start the day.

EXACTLY man, that's exactly how I am. If I know tomorrow I have nothing to do, besides sleeping in longer, I'll be more reluctant to actually get awake to do stuff, whereas I have a full day planned, I get up early, and get ready to do whatever needs doing.

I have my sound system alarm set on pretty high. So once it goes off, I practically jump outta bed, and stay wide awake the rest of the day

(oh yea, doesnt hurt to sleep 8-9 hours; no more, no less)

I agree, a regular sleep pattern is very important. I also find the earlier you wake up in regards to the morning hours the better. Humans are made to get up at the crack of dawn. I worked night shift before and I found myself always tired no matter how much sleep I got. Just got about 4 hours and I feel ok, been doing this all week. Exercise helps out as well. Maybe you have a tad of depression. Had that too and 16 hours wasn't enough sleep sometimes. Eat breakfast, even if it's just a slice of toast and some juice.
The more I drink, the less I care.
