Cable Moden Activity Light

I have a Motorola SB4100 modem and a Linksys BEFSR41 router. The activity lights on both the moden and the router are blinking all the time, even when both computers are off. I have been using this setup for 6 months with the lights blinking only once in a while, then one day they just started blinking all the time. I am on RR and I have noticed my IP address has changed, don't know if that is causing it or not. Everything seems to work OK, just the lights blink all the time.
