I'm using SDRAM right now, but once I get my bonus check from work in about a month, I'm gonna invest in a new motherboard/processor/DDR memory to get me going even faster :)

This is why I think calling either of the new memory types over the hill is a bit premature.

They aren't even a consideration for mainstream yet.

I use SDRAM, my buddies computer I'm upgrading uses the old EDO RAM. I hate those, I think they are alot harder to remove. But luckily his memory is maxed out anyway.

and the others are the kids with an old celeron 333a and an amd 380.

and you know what?

that dang celeron still rocks with 128 ram,it outbenchmarks the amd 380 with 384 ram.

I really like that 333

If I werent already at 800mhz it might look more tempting to me, so P4 is the only sensible thing for me.

And Tualatin is not an option.
