hello all - lately my screen has been getting choppy and flickers if i'm gaming online or doing multi-tasking and sometimes system just locks-up completely. at times i will get an error message saying "there isn't enough free memory to run this program" and all i can do is reboot and then everything is fine. i got 256mb on w98se. the wierd thing is that my system resources hardly ever fall below 92% but it will still all of a sudden crash. i recently got a program called "mcafee office pro" - it's awsome. you can do all sorts of stuff. one of which is thing called "first aid". i don't know if any of yall are fimiliar with this or not, but it tests for hardware conflicts, performance issues, ect. and suggests how to repair it.
when i run it, the program says it finds a critical error and reports the following:
RAM error < FC76 > Physical Ram - Butterfly
RAM error < FC8C > Physical Ram - Butterfly
sometimes when i run the test i get a list like the one above but it may have 10 or 12 lines in it. they all say the same thing except the numbers/letters between the <xxxx> are different.
i even uninstalled my 75mb ramdrive to free-up that memory but i still have the same problem. does anybody have ANY idea of whats going on ? ? ?
rrrrram
if i right click "my computer" and go to properties > then performance it says i have 255mb. this is crazy, i can open all kinda programs - 3 or 4 different webpages, napster, media played, ect. and with everything running my system resources are still in the low to mid 80's, but then all of a sudden, i won't have enough "free memory" to open "outlook express" or something like that

Thanks -
