Win2K questions

Post by steve »

Anyone know how to clean up stuff in the start tray in Win2K, similar to what msconfig did in Win98?

Best way to defrag? I made my C drive NFTS but kept my other partitions at FAT 32. Thanks for any help.

Start in the actual programs that load themselves and look for options to turn off notificatin, load on start etc...
Then check your startup folder
Then check all users startup folder
Then check these reg keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
She's presenting like a mandrill!

They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake".

Yes, that program was my savior in Win2k! :)

There is also a program called startupcop that works too but the proggy that LukeMan posted works way better!

"regcleaner"

registery cleaner, also lets you edit startup.

i dunno if those are the sameones, but i remember trying an app someone posted in the gen forum and it messed up PRO. since moving to adv server, regcleaner does the job fine.
