Please Help! Web sites that are large files lock up my connection.

Post by Discover »

I have hte speed guide recommended tweaks and had good service until about 2 months ago. For some reason when I try and access this site:

http://home.HiWAAY.net/~langford/kmarkl.html

it rarely loads it all before lockining up. Then I have to reboot and try again. It seems to lock up quite often during web surfing all the time these days.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ned

Thanks for the reply Lobo,

I'm on Windows 98 and using Netscape 4.77. I just spoke to my ISP (roadrunner) and he changed some connection arrangement. He thought it might be more efficient. I haven't had time to really test it to see if it's any better.

Would it help to see the results from the TCP analyzer? How can I print the analyzer presults to this discussion group?

Thanx again

first try putting your "tweaks" back to default and try the page again.

If that does no nothing attempt to use internet explorer (you should be using it anyhow :D )

If you still have problems maybe you should set your rwin lower - higher depending on your connection.

How much ram do you have? What CPU?
