CCNA Certification

Post by neveruseaol »

I was just wondering if any of you out there could tell me how the CCNA Certification test is. I dont want answers, just tell me whether it is really hard or is like common sense. I heard that it is like 120 questions. I plan on taking it this summer or next year.

Thanks,

When I tested it was 75 questions and not easy. You have to know the material backwards and forwards. A large portion of the test is related to OSI and router commands.

If your not solid on Frame Relay, PPP and ISDN, depending on the question pool you get, this could make or break you passing the exam. I found that the Sybex Exam Prep from Lammle and the Boson practice exams to be the most closely related to the actual questions on the exam. In fact, some of them where ditto :)

Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Moderate to hard alot of the test deals with the OSI ref and common config commands. Know protocols backwards and forwards and read, read, read.....then read some more.
I used the Exam cram book and fooled around ALOT with a 2500 series router.

Good Luck :)

It is 75 questions and depending on when the previous poster took the exam it could have been the earlier version. The newer exam "ICND" focuses on network devices and and OSI more so than commands. You still have to know commands but just memerizing them will not suffice anymore. You have to know the technologies inside and out. It is not easy and if you get an exam that has a few more questions about routing/subnetting you better know =)

Good luck it is a learning experience and you will feel your knowledge broaden after completing this.
