This may sound typical, but looking to upgrade this poor system.
I bought the system 2 years ago, a Packard Bell Package, okay scream, yell, and
The problem with the case on the system was the power supply!
Seems when PB make this model, they made the power supply to draw air into the case and not exhaust it, Yes thats what I said.
Anyway, I went out and got a mid tower althon case to put the motherboard in, which also allowed me to free up the third PCI slot. (In Packard Bell, the ATX form case got in the way of the PCI slot so it could never be used.)
Installation of the motherboard when with out a hitch, and all works fine, even got a front fan included with the new case, and the total cost was only $69.00
Here's the problem:
On the motherboard is a Cyrix 6x86 MII MMX processor,
A intelinstead clone running internally at 225 Mhz.

The Solution?:
I want a good motherboard with speed and the ability to use the SDRam I currently have, but one that is upgradeable on the AMD level.
What do the members of the forum recommend, or should I just go buy a "Bare Bones System" and start from there??
Thanks all
