Anyone ever use the system.ini NIC card tweak?
Anyone ever use the system.ini NIC card tweak?
If you have did it actually work as I read it and it said possibly 0 to 10% which isnt much so im wondering is it worth and has any of you tested it?
I tried it and didn't notice a thing. I found that my NIC is set within itself to use 2048 and thats nonadjustable and nonnegotiable for it. Some swear that it does work! Only thing I can tell you is to try it and if you don't see any difference then take it back off.

i did it, and set it to 4096 so that it would use that much of my ram. and i have noticed a pretty big difference!!!!!! for example, before in CS i use to ping around low 80's. BUT, NOW i ping mid 60's to low 70's!!!! try it for ur self and see what happens to ur ping if anything. but to me it did a lot of
good stuff for me and now i'm killing ppl in CS
so really just try it, and if it doesn't do anything then take it off
BUT overall i'm

Ok i tried the ini tweak but i havent seen an increase yet although im gonna leave it in for a week to be sure. I tested a trace route..no difference yet...but ill keep checking. Wondering if I did it even right. I followed what the page said but one question.....
I typed in the registry:
Irq9=4096 but my irq was 09 so do i put 09=4096 or just 9=4096 liek the picture? Just checking to make sure
------To the other guy---On the main web site here on the far left side under cable modem there is a link for this NIC tweak. Its easy to put in too. I wana to see if it helps with my online gaming Ill repost on it in a few days

On the web site it shows a picture of 09 IRQ whch the number iof that NIC is 09......but he typed in the registry "9" not "09" so thats what I did. Which is better? So far as results go.........
There is one thing I have noticed.....very small so a possiblr 5 or 10% increase.....
Ping hasnt changed....cant tell if web sites upload faster and i havent downlaodd anythign yet BUT......when i now run a trace route not for all servers but a specific server on a UOTRACE instead of it being 50secs to 1.5 min before it starts it now starts at about 11 secs....HUGE increase. I tried this this morning and last night during peak times. Both worked great so this DOES help in some areas where u can tell or not tell. I plan to try some other things too to see what it does. IE: downloading, movie viewing, flash...etc
