First things first, thank you, Dannjr, GLC1, and Lobo, for your help. 3:24am, yeesh, thx
again. I'm using windows 2000 professional. (Here are the results from <tracert speedguide.net>:

...as far as my speed goes, here are some results: 2wire.com -------BANDWIDTH METER
(test done 3x, here is the average 518.03kbps = 64.75Kbytes/sec)
This is approximately 81% of my real bandwidth 640kbps -- I guess I should be happy...

Well, I take it I'm O.K. 'cause I'm better than 60% - 75% of my "real" maximum bandwidth
640/90. STILL, any help is appreciated ----Thx.
also, I have another question, it may be stupid, but, since I'm fairly new to this side of things, I feel as though I'm exempted from being smart =). Is it at all possible that there is a program or procedure to get to a particular destination faster? Example: I ran the <tracert> to your URL, speedguide.net, lets say I do a tracert to a SoF, Unreal Tourney or
Quake III server, why can't I just take the shortest route possible to the server, the route with the least amount of latency??? [shortest route as described by <tracert>]
