Fairly new cable ISP

Post by drakken »

It's called Cablelynx. A company called NetworkIP handles it. I just don't see how it's gonna fly with the extreme caps, and even slower actual bandwidth. I'm capped at 384/128, and none of the tweaks have helped in the slightest. Through all the download tests, I'm lucky to get 20K per sec. I may be being a little hard on them since it's all brand new in my area, but unless it gets better, I'm stuck with it until DSL becomes available...which doesn't look like any time soon.

So all of you who complain about only getting 2000kbps, really don't know how lucky you are.

I'm capped at 385kbps, not 384 KB/s...that's supposedly a little over 40K/s, and get nowhere near that. Another crappy thing is the ping. I was SOOOOO excited about "broadband" and getting to play games again, but nooooooo, the isp is actually 500 miles away and before I even get out of the network, I'm pinging 150ms.
