Supposed to spped up loading of web pages

Post by capdjq »

Have the following setting in my Registry. Modified it from Web Patch. Will it speed up the loading of my web pages.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
I should have these settings written:
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000055
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000040

BTW I have cable and Win98SE.

Thanks

Whats the speed of your connection and make sure you never put it up at 99 I heard somones been saying that...
If your connection is up around 600KB/sec then you could be ok..
But the speed of the web pages loading fast will probably be more efficeint around or equill amounts between 12 and 32..
Here´s another way to look at it Speedguide has already set them at a good amount if you go to high and hit a hard site there is the possibility of having to reload IE..
I run mine at 20/20 on a 210KB/sec connection. :)

Thanks.
BTW, when you say speed of your connection, do you mean official speed or tested speed which varies according to time of day.
I have @home cable and am using Dr TCP:

your average speed which varies...Iwas just trying to give you a closer number than just tossing one out to you for the web page tweak

capdjq,
You need to understand that when installing Cablenuts patches it removes all previous patches and installs it's own.
If you use the Uninstaller on Cablenuts patch it will return everything back to default.
All the more the Good practice of Backing up your registery for just in cases.
ALSO remember to ALWAYS reboot after installing any Patches.
PS... The 99 factor has a name for it!
"BURN BABY BURN" and that's not a good burn either! :)
No Question is a dumb Question when it comes to Tweaking!

Thanks. My registry is a jumble of tweaks for Broadband. No rhyme or reason. Am reverting to default and then installing cablenut software and then doing the test.
