Why is WinMe faster than Win98 with broadband

Post by trickquick »

I consistently see about 300kb/s d/l speed with Win98 Se and about 450kb/s d/l speed with Win Me. Both are with the speedguide.net patch too. Does anybody know what the difference is between the 2, and if you can make Win 98 as fast as Win Me? This is with a cable modem, and I used the same exact site to do the speed test at the same time of day on both computers. Thanks.

I use ME also and though it is not perfect it has alot of changes that 98 does not, I think it is better but their are those who don't, this does not really answer question but maybe someone will come along with some insight :) :)
