PPPoE is for DSL lines. If your on cable, no.

I'm not to sure if I connect using it, I just read that the cable modem i'm using uses or maybe supports it. So i'm a bit confused.

You don't have to dial in to establish a connection before using your ISP do you? I understand that there are some cable ISP that so this, but I've never seen any. :confused:

some routers/bridges/ have the PPPoE built in however if your getting a 1500MTU or greater than MTU of 1492 then more than likely your not using PPPoE and that it supports it.... Now wouldnt it be funny if cable went with PPPoE :) For most of you not I have no problem with it... But it might cause people to freak...
But then I read the front page on speedgude and that didn't freak me.
