One Way Cable Modem Sharing

HI I have 2 computers networked with twisted pair. My main computer has 2 ethernet cards (one for the cable modem) and a modem for the upload. I have tried many programs to share the 1 way cable but with no avail. I think I have a network problem becuase I know it IS possible. I can play games and transfer files but cant share internet. I assigned each computer an IP. An interesting thing is when I type "ping 192.168.0.1" into the DOS prompt it wont ping the other computer. But like I said, I can transfer files and play games over the network. This leads me to beleive I have a network problem. Any ideas?

I have Win98 SE but that did not work.

ok. For the Sharing computer , did you configure ICS to share the NIC that's attached to the cable modem?

You don't need to assign an IP to the client pc. Enable DHCP and the pc will go out into the network and find your sharing pc.

What OS do you have? I know in Win98 Se and Win2k you can activate ICS.

On the sharing computer(one that's attached to DSL) set IP to 192.168.0.1 subnet: 255.255.255.0

Enable DHCP on the client computer. Reboot.

It's a little tricky. Make sure you configure ICS properly.
