I remember posting a thread about 4-5 years ago about this, still haven't gotten another one.
Would like to and just wondering what's worked well for you and you'd recommend.
We do lots of plant stuff at work and had to cut a bunch of bamboo gardening stakes a couple weeks ago.
Employee had a nice daily carry with everything...except a wood saw.
After a knife and pliers that's the main thing I would want.
Best multi-tool?
Unknown brand with no markings. This was some swag that a sales rep (my brother's wife) gave me years ago. Although I've had it for 10 years it mostly lives in my daypack and only gets used once in a great while. I use it more as an emergency backup than a daily carry. It's sturdy and has a comfort grip. I'm not sure it would hold up like my Leatherman but with the included blades, sockets and tips it sure does cover a lot of needs.
That Wave + looks pretty sweet.

Don't know much about multi-tools, but cutting bamboo without a proper saw can be a real pain. I have 4 clumps of Angel Mist Blue Ghost Bamboo in my back yard, they get up to 30 feet and 2" diameter, and I use a Rigid Reciprocating Saw to keep them in check, I don't know what I'd do without it.

Love all my Gerbers. About 35 years worth.YeOldeStonecat wrote:Leatherman cornered the market (made the market) for this niche.....however Gerber makes a good one also, I have one of each. ...like 'em both.
But looking at their site, maybe I'm missing it but I see dozens of models and none with a wood saw.

I see 2, so technically you're correct, but to me a few is great than 2YeOldeStonecat wrote:The link you put up shows a few with saws....keep lookin'
I'm probably missing something else though.
I'll look at the Truss and Diesel a bit more.
The Leatherman Wave+ gets great reviews but I think it comes with different bits.
Great until you lose them.
Last thing I need unless they're standard.
