Comcast blocking specific programs ports ? Do they??

Post by spudler »

I hope I am in the correct location for this post.
I have been using a program called CCfile" It allows me to share larger files then email will allow, set up shared folders etc" It is quite nice as I could set up specific shared folders, create specific usernames and passwords, and allow uploaded files
This program allowed me to do this all from my own computer it crated a specific URL where I could give URL and login info to say my guitar player and he cold log on and download the drum files etc I had and upload his guitar tracks etc.
I haven't used the program in a few months and a few days ago I went to use it and it is unable to connect and I am unable to pull up the url like I could.
It was using port 80 which I had set up in Norton Security suite as I was supposed to and it did work a few months back, plus the program uses UPNP which on my router is enabled.
I am wondering of perhaps Comcast has done something sneaky to block specific ports etc?
I never went about possibly 40% of Comcast's data limits of 250GB per month so I would see no reason they would of had issue with anything I did, Plus all the files were my own music files mostly saved a wav files since we were recording and I would mix/master then create final files later.
I am just curious if anyone else has had this issue? It was nice using CCfile as I once did transfer a file larger then 1GB which cannot be emailed.
Thanks

Inbound port 80 is commonly blocked by most ISPs on their residential connections.
