So I have been messing with some settings so I can stream Xbox games using my elgato and I was told to goto a certain website to test my speed and they said on the website that other sites that use flash programs to test are inaccurate, now after doing a test it seems to give me extremely low results, I know this is wrong as I download on a regular basis.
Who do I trust?
testmy.net is telling me my upload is 2.9 Mbps
speedtest.net is telling me it's 9.2 Mbps
I have fibre optic and so I have a 40/10 Mbps connection
Not sure who to trust!!!!

Take an average of several that are located near you. Even the same test site but using several different locations will vary in results...it's all a matter of how many hops away the site is, what backbones are being used to get there from your ISP, things like that.
Some other good tests...download large files like ISOs or service packs from Microsoft...do it several times over a several day period, look at the average. You can do the math from there to convert transfer rates to line rates.
