Boy, after 1 week I need a vacation!

Post by Easto »

Our company was just bought out. We new it was coming but let's just say... a lot of the prep work was lacking. We had to learn a new software package on the fly (AS-400) and it's light years behind what we were currently using. Everyone in the office is just staring at these new screens trying to figure out what you do next and frustrated to no end. The new company did send someone out to help with the integration and we learned a lot from him and he was a great help but, we were not able to use our printers, we cannot upload documents into the system. Just a mess on top of trying to learn the new system. It was a week of 12-14 hour days and I'm exhausted. On top of that, the wife started a new job and they are working her 7 days a week for the first 3 weeks. It's a new company and they are basically setting up a warehousing system and they have no time to spare. We both need a vacation bad.

We're actually planning another trip to Kauai. A friend who lives over there is having a baby around February and we're going to go over to see the kid.

Yeah, this thing is just killing. They're using the same software as we "were" using but only a version that's 10 years older.
