Thanks for making TCP Optimizer.
My father tried the latest version on his Windows 8 machine (without first checking whether it was compatible).
First, he tried to "optimize" the TCP settings and rebooted. Result was his download speeds went from 6Mbps to 2Mbps.
So he tried undoing the changes by loading the "sg_backup_xxx.spg" file. Rebooted. Same issue.
Then he used the File menu, and selected "Restore Windows Default Settings" and rebooted. Same problem.
Then from the File menu he tried "Reset TCP/IP" and rebooted. The problem remained.
Then from the File menu he tried "Reset Winsock" and rebooted. But he still got the much lower download speed.
He also tried Windows "System Restore" but the problem remained.
Can you tell me what TCP Optimizer did to his system and how he can restore his original download speed without reinstalling Windows?
Thanks!
