little buger got stuck yesterday, tried to pull him/her back out but they wouldn't have none of it.

I just separated the wires with some plyers....couldn't find wire snippers and got him loose. I thought for sure he'd scurry off but instead he just stared at me....2nd pic.

Good for you.

Wonder if he ate something inside that made him too fat to fit through on the way back out.

Is that a compost pile?

No, he didn't look as though he ate anything, just too big to get through.

No compost pile, just leaves from our trees, 9 in the back yard, and that wire fencing has been there from previous owners and I keep meaning to get it out.
