Doesn't TOR really slow down your PC? That is what I heard a few years ago.

It doesn't slow down your PC..but it slows your browsing down...because you gateway is now way out there somewhere . Doesn't matter how powerful your PC is..doesn't matter how fast your internet connection is...you're depending on the speed of the ..eh...open mesh bridged network that you're tunneling through. Sort of like surfing through a VPN connection to another gateway....doesn't matter what sized internet pipe you have or if you have some quad core 32 gig SSD powered monster..."a chain is only as strong as its weakest link".

Very true. My web browsing is a little slower (some downloads as well).
