ipad vs xoom
ipad vs xoom
what do you guys think?
my husband and i were talking about going halfsies on a tablet. mostly for traveling purposes, being able to share our photos with family without having to haul a laptop over, and watching netflix and minor web surfing.
here are my concerns.
Ive done some research and a couple things that i really hate about the ipad is that you have to rely on Itunes, there is no USB port and no flash player.
My husband and I both have droid phones so i think we would be more comfortable with a droid tablet. we also both have ipods, however, so maybe it wouldnt be very difficult.
I read something that compared the ipad and xoom to checkers and chess, meaning the ipad is more simple to use but its functionality is also more simple (lacking customization, etc) where the xoom is more difficult to learn but more functional and customizable
What do you guys think? Anyone have experience with both and have a strong opinion one way or the other?

that pretty much sums it up.I read something that compared the ipad and xoom to checkers and chess, meaning the ipad is more simple to use but its functionality is also more simple (lacking customization, etc) where the xoom is more difficult to learn but more functional and customizable

I stick with Apple because of the money I've invested in apps for the iPhone and iPad. IF you already have android phones and already shelled out for android apps, then stick with Android. All I can say is that if we are gonna trash either system, then we have to do an apples to apples comparison of app functionality. IF you have a function, task, or app that you want me to demo on the iPad2, I can video it for you in a jiffy.

The Xoom has a micro SD slot as well, you can easily add extra 32GB to it.
Newegg has a refurb Xoom for $379 that seems like a good deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834209002
