I bought tribes 2 and can't update

Some people have problems with the auto update and this is were you can get the patch to fix it. http://tribes2update.sierra.com if that still doesn't work then you can download all the patches and manually install them from http://www.5assedmonkey.com

well that's just it, i can get the updates, but they don't work and this is legit. that's what ticks me off. i bought it.

says file is found but not updated because contents don't match.

thats what you get for buying tribes2. lol j/k you cant even d/l them from the ineternet and install them on your own? That sounds like a problem for the makers of tribes2 if thats the case

yea man i have dloaded it from the net. i've even found the older updates now and nada. it's a piece of crap. my computer may not be the fastest or nicest, but it runs everything and anything like a charm. i have it tweaked to death and cleaned to death. here's somethin tho, i found a tweak to enable 4 way mem interleave on my apollo pro 133a.. so i did. that MIGHT be what's causing it but again everything else runs great. mm. i'm disabling now to see.

Go to www.fileplanet.com and do a search for "t2firstaid2" it's the "first aid utility". Dynamix said that in some cases when the files are copied from the cd to the hd some files may be corrupted so this utility checks them. To use it you must uninstall T2 and right after you reinstall it run the utility with your cd in the drive so it can compare files and retransfer any that are damaged. Don't try and start up T2 after you reinstall it, make sure you run the utility before you do anything else.

heh i'll let the fix util run all night tonight. here's an idea, i'm going to leave an ftp up, when u get on, make a folder w/ some random numbers and upload audio.vl2 from your tribes2/gamedata/base/ directory for me. that's the file that's causing my problem. thanks a lot all

make sure to make the folder w/ at least 4 random numbers cause u won't be able to see what others are upping (if someone were to use the same folder name u did. please up WORKING versions of the audio.vl2 file for me. it's about 33.6 megs. also.. i need it from a FRESH install... but will take anything at this point in time. thanks a lot

I bought tribes 2 but it won't update itself or even PLAY in single player. i get exception errors after it loads stuff. tried reinstall and the first aid util

cable modem (good pings to near everything on earth hehe)
hmm what else.. intel NIC card.

well there you go. left the fixer on all night... it went up to 26, 456 or so, and nothing still. heh. stupid thing.. can't return it either. heh yes i'm runnin win2k w/ 448 ram, win98 would have crapped all over itself if i left the fix prog on it all night haha

If you were using win98 you wouldn't be having any of these problems. If the game still doesn't work after all that then go back to where you bought it from and exchange it.

i did, and it isn't 2k specific actually. it's sierra's cd protection at fault. i did my reading on it. heh.
