Vinyl or Digital

Post by blebs »

Don't know if this has been done before, but what do you prefer to listen to, vinyl or digital music?

Reason I ask, I was watching "How it's made" this morning and they were making master records. Some say Vinyl has more depth in sound. Wondering what your opinions are on that.

A number of albums that I have on the computer are needle drop versions made from vinyl, and they do seem to have a warmer, richer sound to them. My wife and I have been contemplating buying a turntable recently and getting back into listening to vinyl...

I'm happy with the way digital sounds. There are really 2 huge schools of thought regrading this matter but I'm not going there. I do think if you have a large vinyl collection it would probably be a good idea to invest in a decent turntable and related equipment. Just because digital has seemingly taken over doesn't mean that vinyl still doesn't have a lot to give.

I have a large vinyl collection, and I have a turntable, but I haven't played a record in years, one of the best things of digital IMO is the ease and speed of finding songs and general ease of use and small storage capabilities(iPod,etc, etc)
