Quake2 and Voodoo3 Problem?

Post by Bandit »

Quake2 just quits, no error, nothing just exits to desktop, like if I had typed quit. Anyone had this problem? I have a voodoo3 2000 AGP (not overclcoked) and AGP BUS at 60MHz.

Im pretty sure it is related to the card, never happened before.

I haven't played Q2 is awhile or messed around with the settings for it, so bear with me here.

Check your *.cfg files and check to see if there is any reference to a video card other then your V3. Also make sure those *.cfg files are not read-only.

Get the latest 3dfx*.dll files and make sure they are in the proper /quake2 directory. Can't remember which one :(

Install the latest (or last) Q2 patch, duh ;)

I hope this helped you out some or maybe points you in the right direction. Like I said, I haven't messed around with those settings in quite some time. If this does not clear up your problem, please repost and I will check out my Q2 settings when I get home. I have a V3 on one of my machines and I will test out Q2 myself to see if it is V3 related :)
