comcast and linksys wireless router

hello,
i recently bought a laptop and i went out to buy a wireless router to use the wireless internet. i have comcast high speed internet, and when i tried to hook up the new wireless router, it asks me to use along with my old router, the problem is i dont have a router, the dsl cable from comcast simply comes straight out of the wall, i have no router. what can i do..please help.

For Comcast cable..you pretty much only need the Modem and then the wireless router and that's it. What modem are you using?

If you connect the cable from the wall directly to your computer, can you access the Internet? Com cast is cable, not DSL. You would need a Comcast modem hooked up to that cable.
