bouncer please help!! my gaming with adsl is terrible.

hello , i have 640/90 service from bell atlantic, i know they suck ,but i have no other high speed solutions in my area. i am gettin 60kb when downloading and i am happy but when i play onlnie games ,it is worse then with my 56k conn. i am not getting any lost packets and i have tried using the tweaks from this web site. thanx for u help

Two words:

Try adjusting the rate, maxumim FPS refresh, and latency prediction.
This is a tedious process involving repetative execution of console commands for you particular game.
I suggest you create batch or config files to help automate it.
You can either create one file and have a key assigned to switch the settings or you can call a specific file. ie, exec slow.cfg, or, exec fast.cfg

Good luck on finding the right combo for each game.

BELL ATLANTIC ADSL SPEEDS RULE!!!!!!!!!! [BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1am and 8am!!!!!!!]

THEY SUCK, TOO MANY USERS ON ONE SHARED LINE OR SOMETHING.

ON THE MIDNITE HOURS I GET 50-60KB/S DOWNLOADS BUT AFTA 10AM OR SO IT DECLINES TO 15KB/S. SO BASICALLY ITS SLOW ASS CRAP WHEN I WANT TO GO ON, BUT FAST AS BUTTAH WHEN IM SLEEPING. GAY!!!!!! START PETITION!!!!

i get the same packet loss with bell atlantic and have good download speeds. i play quakeIII... so what would be good settings for "rate,fps refresh and latency adjust". im not even sure what commands do that but i will find them. the packet loss is REALLY annoying to the point where i cant play... but the pings are good (60-80) thanks

hey knicks00 i would like to ask what are your pings to your isp?i am having the same problems and suspect that the distance to isp is causing the poopie pings,im getting 160ms pings to my isp,but downloads are a respectable 90KB,anyhoo im switching isp this week to a local one hoping that it will cure the problems. ill post results hear first. good luck

i will be pinging my isp when i get home and will post the results, thanx. what is a respectable or expected ping to my c-office?

how do i prove that my provider is overselling the lines to customers? i called them and told them that and deny any such thing ,i know that they are lying. they tell me that im getting 640k from my house to the c-office which is 8,000 ft away and that there's no way to garauntee speeds when going trying to route to other sites on the net.

i wish i had another option besides bell atlantic in my area
