bought a 7d and a 17-55mm canon lens. waiting on filters and mem card to get in.
should i take a class or just figure it out?
having a baby in april. bought a 7d. teach me. :D
Play with it, experiment, see what all the buttons and functions can do. The nice thing with digital cameras over their film counterparts is that you can take as many pictures as you want without having to worry about the expense of film and development.Amro wrote:bought a 7d and a 17-55mm canon lens. waiting on filters and mem card to get in.

It probably took me about a month to really get a good feel for the camera I have, and even now, a year after getting my camera, there are things that I will occasionally discover that I didn't realize I could do.
I'd say play with it for a bit, and if, after a month or so you still don't feel comfortable with it, consider a class.
Oh, and congrats on the baby

a class would be good,
I have a basic knowledge, but I am going to take a digital photography class at the local jr college in January.
also your local photography stores should have classes as well, like Ritz Camera does I know for sure,I took their classes too.

and then there is nothing like practice and experimenting,it's free on a digital ! shoot, shoot, shoot.
