anyone sitting in a office chair all day? I got back problems

Post by tHE_0ne »

I recently took a new job which requires me to sit in a office chair all day, towards the end of the day my back is in serious pain. Any suggestions to help my back? im 6'33 and I raised my monitor and lowered my seat all the way, which helps me from looking down so far.

6'4" and change here. Back back also.

Get up and walk around on a regular basis, stretch a bit.

Don't get into a slouch habit.

Some chairs are better than others.

Don't lower your chair too much, you don't want your mouse hand going uphill to work the mouse on top of the desk...else you'll find your right shoulder (assuming you're right handed) will be raises and bit and affect your posture and back muscles.

I had 3 compressed discs in my spine last year. It could have happened for a number of reasons. At work, I started to sit in my chair, feet flat on the floor and bend forward and touch my toes. This will stretch and decompress your spine. I have not had the problem since. When ever I can remember, I try to do that stretch.

I had lumbar strain.

Exersize #1 [ = E1 ] Lie flat front down, arms at side, head tilted to left or right, for 2 minutes. This relaxes the back muscles.

E2 Lift torso up to a point were you can rest head in arms, elbows bent.

E3 Press up, like it sounds, girl push-ups.(please no sexist remarks).

E4 While standing, bend backwards really far while keeping hands on back thighs, arms staright.

A tightly rolled towel to support lumbar while seated helps. Sleeping?, maddoc is right.

Hope this helps. But beware. If you find a quick cure hear, only some of us are doctors? Get checked out! The medicine works. Could just be an inflammatory infection cured with 2 pills?.

Physiotherapy is good hear in Canada, I got cured. But it costs :(
