Best security software for my computer on R.R.

Post by ChrisDJ »

I have just recently started using RoadRunner cable internet access, and I'd like to make sure my computer is secure, without slowing my connection speeds that much. I'd also like a program that isn't too complicated, and/or overloaded with features that I don't need, and will never use. Cheap or free is also a plus. What do you reccomend?

RR homepege will give you the 'doubleclick' spyware. Not good to use their Homepage. Pick your own.

Also try AdAware 4.5 from www.lavasoft.de [freeware] to remove 'adware' & 'spyware' from your drive [set to run on boot-up]

And, Anti-Trojan 5.0 [5 free uses] from www.anti-trojan.net/

Definately, ZA for your firewall www.zonealarm.com

For anAnti Virus program, try InnoculateIT [freeware & free updates] from www.antivirus.cai.com Is good to set this one to load on boot so you can update 3x per week, or do manually from icon in trat.

I was using the free ZoneAlarm and I do like it. However, in the past 3 days I've downloaded, installed and configured Tiny Firewall (also free) and really like it much better.

ZoneAlarm and Tiny Firewall both get the job done but for the meantime I'm giving Tiny Firewall my vote. :) :) :)
