3 xbox's 1 router upnp alternative?

Post by joecool169 »

So I have three xbox's sitting behind one linksys router running ddwrt. All have open nat via upnp. Is there a way to get open nat to all three without upnp?

The reason for my question is I was reading that upnp is not exactly real secure. Allows programs or devices to open ports. I am not real worried about it, but I was wondering what the options are.

Thanks guys :)

When having 2 or more 360's. UPnP is a must. And that is the only way you can get a open NAT status on all 3. I have only got upnp to work properly with 3rd party firmware. Currently running Tomato. Stock firmware does not cut it. I personally would never use it with a pc. I currently have it turned off on a laptop and desktop. But for game consoles when using a router. It is fine. I personally think Tomato has better upnp support then dd-wrt. I feel more "secure" with Tomato upnp. But that is just my opinion. Here is a screen shot of my upnp options.
